Qin Guangrong (秦光荣), Party secretary of Yunnan province, met with Surin Pitsuwan, secretary general of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Chanchai, chairman of Reignwood Group，a multinational group in beverage, property management and tourism, on Dec 18 in Kunming.

Surin Pitsuwan said that Yunnan is an important province connecting ASEAN, and Kunming is qualified for the interconnections of logistics, information, transportation, investment and trade. With huge potential, the new airport in Kunming is not only an important traffic hub, but also a corridor between China and the Middle East as well as European Union (EU).

Qin Guangrong said that geographic superiority can be seen between Yunnan and countries in ASEAN. Cooperation has been strengthened, especially on tourism and agricultural export. Mr. Surin Pitsuwan has been paying attention to promoting the cooperation between Yunnan and South Asia, especially ASEAN. Some important activities of ASEAN are held in Yunnan. Cooperation between Yunnan and Southeast Asia and South Asia will be enhanced. As one of the air corridors connecting China, Southeast Asia, South Asia, west Asia and Africa, Yunnan has been developing aviation industry. He is glad to see the establishment of Reignwood Group in Yunnan with the efforts of Chairman Chanchai whose trip will boost win-win developments between Yunnan and Reignwood Group.

Chanchai said that cooperation on aviation and tourism will be promoted between Yunnan and Reignwood Group.
