From this year, the main import goods from Thailand have been changed into fruits. 34,900 tons fruits have been imported from Thailand with a trade value of 32.09 million USD, occupying 87% of total import from Thailand. Coconut, fig, pineapple, guava, mango, mangos teem and etc. involved in.

The sharp increase of fruit import pushes the port trade due to the several reasons: Kunming-Bangkok Highway shortens the import journey to 228 km from Thailand to China; the Agreement on Inspection Requirement of Import and Export Fruit through Kunming-Bangkok Highway was signed between AQSIQ and Ministry of Commerce of Thailand on 21st Apr, 2011. Which rules the Thailand’s fruits would be imported as the general trade from 12th May, 2011.

Contraposing the new policy, Mengla Customs took a serious convenient accommodation to insure the fluent fruits’ customs clearance: open “Green Channel” at all times; simplify customs procedures to 10-15 minutes on the condition that all valid documents would be offered; research fruit price market timely to completely eradicate fresh fruits to be detained; strengthen the contact with enterprises to propagandize the customs policies and support the enterprises.
