It was a bit cold at night, November 19, in Kunming. But in the World Expo Garden Hotel, people felt excited. Xiong Zhaozhong(熊朝忠), a member of the Miao minority group from Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan Province, has won the World Boxing Council (WBC) Asian Gold Belt for his 7th time.

Xiong said before the race, “I like the feeling, receiving shouting for my victory!”

Getting used to victories, he gets used to being embraced, lifting the gold belt inside rings and even bearing silence after boxing races. He aims at something higher. Xiong will strive for the World Gold Belt next year.

Xiong stays in Zongwei Boxing Club. After the boxing race, the manager of the club, Liu Gang said, “Xiong has made progress. But he should punch more.” Liu also expects that Xiong will win the World Gold Belt.

Accordingly, WBC has formally established a branch in China for promoting the development of boxing. There will be an establishment ceremony in future. In this way, the WBC China Gold Belt can be authenticated.

Liu said that Xiong would have more competitions in next 4 months.
