Yunnan to build China's largest coffee production base

Yunnan aims to build the largest production base of coffee processing and the biggest export base of coffee bean in China.
 
A seminar for coffee industry development was held Saturday in Baoshan, southwest China's Yunnan province.

It is reported that the province's coffee planting area has reached 450-thousand-mu, with an annual coffee bean of 40,000 tons. The output value stood at 7.02 billion yuan. The major production bases are located in Baoshan, Dehong and Pu'er.

According to a development plan(2010-2020)on Yunnan coffee industry, Yunnan’s coffee planting area is expected to reach 1 million mu in 2015, with an annual production of 96-thousand-ton coffee bean. By 2015, the area is expected to be 1.5 million mu, with an production of 200-thousand-ton coffee bean and an total out-put value of 34 billion yuan. 


Yunnan's coffee enterprises will participate in international related trade fairs. At least, 1 or 2 coffee companies are expected to be listed on the stock market during the period of 12th Five Year Plan (2011-2015).
